5 Sweet Lovely Things....

Hello my darlings! Happy Friday - hurrah!! I hope the week was bliss for you, while out driving yesterday, I saw some crocuses popping up from the ground...so spring is definitely trying to arrive. Which made me think of these lovely things...delights that always come to mind when the sweet tantalizing being of spring comes & graces us all once more....delicious sweet colourful cake that you can eat outside in the garden instead of wrapped up inside...decorating your shoes with pretty flowers, so you're like a wonderful walking garden wherever you go....fun and happy icecream cone shaped chairs because you can't wait to sit by the water partaking in this wondrously sweet delight. A flower crown to wear whilst dancing in the sun light to welcome spring when she arrives & lastly, wise words for a dainty & beautiful life!!

Have a wonderful weekend dollfaces

All I need is a little sunshine & flowers....

Hello my darlings, I hope you're having a wonderful week so far!! As you can see, I was able to get out & take some photos...the sun was shining & I couldn't resist getting out there :) This is one of my favourite dresses, I love florals on anything & everything! When I saw it in the previous season selection at Whistle & Wolf, I didn't realize how bright the flowers were, but when it arrived, I was pleased to see that they were really bright, which made me love it even more. The puffy sleeves are marvellous, I almost want to stuff them with something so they keep their puffy appearance all day long. It fits like it was made for me, I'm always so impressed with their dresses. And also how they always come all wrapped in tissue paper & ribbon, such sweet touches. Most definitely one of my favourite shops & I recommend them highly. Since the sun was shining, I felt like wearing a mix of several colours to help brighten up the otherwise very grey surroundings! My bracelet from Serena Kuhl was the perfect addition, I love this acid green against the other colours, it's so bright and fun! I added the bow simply for some fun & I like purples & pinks together too. All perfect for sunny time outside. I hope you have a fantastic Wednesday...may the sun shine wherever you may be!!

GIRLWITHABOOK: I Stand with Malala!!

Hello dolls!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend :) Today I wanted to share an important international campaign with you...many of you will know who Malala is...her image and words have been all over the news for a while now...she is a young girl who was on her way home from school when Taliban gunmen stopped her school bus, asked for her by name and then shot her in the head and neck along with two of her classmates. They wanted to silence her campaign for girls' rights to go to school. In 2009, she began (at 11 years old) blogging for BBC Urdu about her struggle to receive an education in the Taliban controlled Swat Valley of Pakistan. She was nominated for the International Children's Peace award in 2011 and was awarded Pakistan's first National Youth Peace Prize in December 2011; She is also the youngest person to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. She's an incredible girl, just listening to her in interviews in humbling.

Girlwithabook's goal is to collect pictures from Malala's and global education's supporters from the entire world to speak up about the right for everyone to have an education. These photos will be collected and put together in a book with the proceeds being used to purchase books for schools in Pakistan.
My friend Monika...who is also an avid book reader & understand the importance of education shared this fantastic cause with me and I knew straight away that I had to join in and share it with all of you!! The want and need to learn and discover new things has been so great in me since a child. Growing up on what was considered the 'wrong side of the tracks' people constantly told me that education was pointless for someone like me...but I couldn't listen to them, I hid big books in my bag and found hiding places to sit and read...you can go to a thousand places with just one book. The gift of learning instilled in me that if I wanted something, I could work hard for it & achieve it.

So many people - especially girls, far and wide are denied the joy of books and education and we need to stand up and give them something better. Because I know if I hadn't had the joy of reading, learning and going to school to grasp onto...only God knows where I'd be..maybe not here at all.
According to UN reports, there are now 57 million kids out of school, 5 million live in Pakistan. More than 3 million of them are girls. It is our fundamental right as females to get an education and learn. I hope that some of you will stand with us too, in the hope that one day all girls & women every where will have the education and safety they deserve through equal rights. We need to be the change we wish to see & not let our voices be silenced!! I completely love her & her courage...she is a wonder woman indeed!

I wish you all a wonderful start to the week

Dainty Life Lately....

Happy Friday my dolls!! I hope your week was darling!! I'm so happy for the weekend, it brings another step closer to spring & I can't wait!! Since the weather was a bit horrid and dark this week, I was unable to get any outfit shots done, but my husband has next week off, so I'll have a better chance to do it since it's lighter when he's at work rather than when he gets home. But, today I thought to share some life things at the moment!! I hope you enjoy & wish you all a fantastic weekend!! See you back here on Monday!!

P.S. Don't forget you can still enter my Serena Kuhl Giveaway...see here!

{Watching} well...thanks to Cheryl from Oh To Be A Muse talking about loving Sons of Anarchy so much, I had to check it out for myself & now I'm obsessed with catching up to America and finding out what happens!! If you haven't watched it before, it's about the lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club operating in Charming, a fictional town in California. It centers around Jackson 'Jax' Teller (in the picture played by Charlie Hunnam) who is Vice President of the club who begins to question the club and himself. I've really enjoyed it, which I didn't know if I would at first, but my husband and I find ourselves staying up late just to watch another episode, haha!

{Buying} My latest purchase...an icecream dress. It has owls & skulls on it as well in a vintage style dress! I'm so excited, I can't wait for spring even more now. I must get a fascinator or some kind of thing to wear with it & of course eat icecream when I wear it too :) I'll share where I got it in a 'shop love' post soon - all the dresses are made to order!

{Wishing to see} After my L'Occitane post and saying how I love blossom trees, the fantastic Yumi shared how they don't have blossom trees in South Africa, but they have jacaranda trees, well I had never seen one before, so I found this picture, aren't they gorgeous!?! I could imagine having these & blossom trees (if it were possible with climate) all over the place, both so gorgeous!!

{Remembering} A little throw back to when it was sunny and lovely...my trip to Kelso Abbey!! I was wearing my 70's vintage dress that looks a little medieval like, I thought it was fitting for this place!! Thankfully the material was light otherwise, I would have been melting. It was far too warm for this dress, but thankfully in Scotland you can find a cooling wind when you need it!!

{Using} Some of my Barry M nail polishes...there is always nail polish in my house & my oldest daughter Saffron & I tend to use Barry M polishes, they come in a lot of fun colours. Lately, I've been buying more pastel and brighter coloured ones. The first two are the newest, the first one is from their newly launched silk nail paint collection...I'll be sharing a review of it in the new week along with the one next to it that I bought at the same time - I can never resist some glitter, haha!

{Dreaming Of} One day owning something from Ulyana Sergeenko! This will most likely stay a dream unless I win the lottery, but that's ok. I adore every new line she presents, the shapes, the colours, the fabrics...the way they are so lady-like yet have an edge to them, Love!

And lastly, I was contacted by the lovely company 'Born Pretty', they specialize in very cool accessories & they have kindly offered a 10% discount to my readers in the  jewelry & accessories section of their shop when you use the code below when checking out. I had a good look through it & there is a wide range of lovely accessories for everyone. I'll be sharing a review of a few of their products soon! Their prices are very good already, so it was very kind! Just click the link, find yourself something great & shop away - they do FREE worldwide shipping - woo!

Have fun this weekend dolls

{The Powder Room} Treats from L'Occitane

Many of you will know the name straight away, L'Occitane is one of those companies that's name carries a lot of weight (they began in 1976 - 3 years before the wonder that is moi was born) as much as I adored the sound and visions of their products, I had sadly never used any of them. But, thanks to winning a lovely giveaway from the gorgeous Emma at Fluff & Fripperies & the prize being some L'Occitane goodies, I was about to banish that fact!

*Note: This isn't a sponsored post, I won these products. All opinions are completely my own*

As soon as I opened the bag, I was instantly hit with a variety of different scents and gorgeously packaged treats, these are the kind of products you leave out for guests to see, as it will instantly grab their curiosity and soon enough they will be asking you about them. Inside the bag I received 4 items, Pivoine Flora Petal Soap, Fleur Cherie Soap, Feuille De Figuier (Fig Tree Leaf) Scented Candle & Fleurs de Cerisier (Cherry Blossom) Solid Perfume - If you know me well enough, you will already know that I am crazy for florals in both fashion and scent, so I was pretty much skipping over the moon already & couldn't wait to try these...although they were almost too pretty looking to try...almost I say - almost!

125g for £7
Sizzling Heart ♥ 5/5

This fragrance tantalizes the senses with that of fresh blooming peony bud in the delicate spring sun with the morning dew still gently wrapped on it's petals...the scent was bursting and overpowering (some may like this, some might not) I felt like I was actually sitting in a garden full of peonies (my favourite flower by the way next to lilies) it was a real powdery-floral scent, not synthetic or sickly sweet. And the soap cleansed the skin thoroughly without over drying...it just left it soft with a pleasant kiss of fragrance....delightful!

~ Feuille De Figuier (Fig Tree Leaf) Scented Candle ~
100g for £13
Sizzling Heart ♥ 5/5

I had never in my life smelled Fig Tree before, so I was unsure what to expect, it's completely different to any candle I've gotten before. Before lighting, the aroma is quite earthy...Yet you can smell a touch of sweetness just behind this...once lit, it made me think of sitting near the fig tree & breathing in it's scent, fruit un-picked & roots still deep into the earth it's life-line, rather than the strange synthetic fake smell you can get from some candles. Deep heady scent, smoky with sweet undertones. Safe to say, for something that I wasn't sure what to expect from, I actually really love this candle...makes me think of springs & summers spent out in the country with nothing but beautiful trees to climb and swing from...a 'real' smell if that makes sense!?!

75g for £11.45
Sizzling Heart ♥ 5/5

This plant based soap is slightly different from the Pivoine Floral Petal soap, this has a more a delicate floral scent, so I smelled soap more than floral. It contains neroli and orange blossom absolute from the Mediterranean. As far as the scent goes at first smell, I prefer the Pivoine Floral Petal scent as its more on the floral side, though I liked that this one's scent was a bit more toned down. Plant based, it has a gentle lather & rinses really well. A really gorgeous lush soap.

10ml for £7.50
Sizzling Heart ♥ 5/5

So Cherry blossom trees are my favourite trees, Its what I daydream about during the long winter months as they sit outside my house & I love watching them bloom. This solid perfume comes in 10ml tin and it's perfect for keeping in your bag throughout the day. The scent in the tin is a strong floral, but on the skin it's refreshing and feminine...what I love about this aroma is that it smells so real, it's not like your  smelling a product, but the real flower.

Overall, I loved each product & would most definitely buy them again. My favourite was the Cherry Blossom solid perfume, I'd like to try the Pivoine Flora in another form, sometimes actual bars of soap present a different aroma than a shower gel or an actual perfume does, I usually buy the perfumes first then the soaps, so I'd like to see how they stand the other way around. L'Occitane is most definitely a gorgeous company that I've enjoyed & will treat myself to something new to try in the future!

Have you tried any L'Occitane products before??

Happy Wednesday to you dolls

Loves & Kisses....Heart filled wishes!

Hello my darlings! I hope you are well :) We had a little snow yesterday...actually we had like every season arrive within an hour...bit strange...my two girls are a little under the weather...so this is a small post while I tend to them. But, what is better than hearts & kisses!?! I am obsessed with pretty things with hearts or lips on them...so I gathered some of my favourites here to share with you!! The dress from Alice & Olivia is amazing, I have an un-dying love for it & surely you can't go wrong with a pair of Vivienne Westwood shoes *wink* This gorgeous heart headband, I've been obsessing over for some time now, Stephanie who makes them is such a sweet girl & her pieces come in so many colours, I love her shop...beautiful! And since I love vampires, I thought the vampire lips necklace was that bit different from just a plain lips necklace. The clutch is so cute, I'd use it every day & Flamingo candles are amazing & always have a little heart on them, this is the love potion candle with sugary notes of candy, vanilla and pear mixed with glitter...yeah, they had me at glitter & the blush is almost too cute to use, I love the vintage packaging, perfect for your handbag. I hope you enjoy them too dolls. Have a gorgeous day!

{Label Love} Dazzle & Jolt...

Step in this world of colour and fun as I introduce you to the out of this world...Dazzle & Jolt! An exciting and relatively new clothing brand from London. Created by friends Zara Saleem & Jessica Holt. Their first collection, "Geometric jungle", was filled with wild prints of tigers, zebras, toucans, and flamingos, guaranteed to make bold colourful statements in a sometimes overly grey world.

While their second collection, "Winter Wonders", takes me to kaleidoscopic tales of mystical beings. The dreamy unicorn, the watchful owl, a sly fox, and even an appearance from Zara & Jessica's dear cat Jarvis. They have a mission to colour the world and I think they will no doubt achieve this. All their prints are limited addition, so you have to get your tees, crop tees & sweaters while their hot! Made from 100% organic cotton & printed in the UK.

I love both collections & the fact that they look completely different from each other is sublime, it's something I look for in brands. I don't really want to buy something that looks like previous offerings. But, what I can say is the same, is that they are just as fun and cleverly designed with lots of colour and eye-catching qualities. Definitely for dolls who like something different & strive for individuality full of expression and pizzazz! Anyone can wear these no matter their style, with some creativity, they can fit in anywhere. The weather may be dull and grey for most at the moment, but it doesn't mean what we wear has to follow suit too!

Have a wonderful week dollfaces

You can visit Dazzle & Jolt here. You can also find them on facebook  & twitter too.

So, which are your favourites dolls!?!

P.S. The shirts in the top pictures are on sale at the moment, so treat yourself :)

Weekend wishes & 3 Pretty Things!

Happy Friday dolls!! I hope your week was bliss, I am ready for the weekend indeed :)) Just a short post today with three things that I enjoyed this week...how many of us really step outside our boxes...sometimes it seems as though many of us enjoy being in a box or labelled one thing or another, but I all too often find that really boring & it's something that actually drives me mad, if I feel things are going the same too often, I feel a bit on edge. I like just jumping out there, not giving myself a label or anything, just going with the flow. And these other two pictures, I thought were gorgeous & kind of reflected the message above, it would be awesome to have hair & nails like this, something non-permanent with the hair though, as I'd like to be able to change it when I wanted. But, trying new things is bliss & I feel is something that makes life - life!! So go out this weekend & try something you've never done before - food, place, hair, make-up, anything...just something new!! You never know what you might discover!!

Have a wonderful weekend dolls

{Illustrator} Valfre...

Happy Wednesday dolls...I love illustration and a while back I came across a lovely talent called Valfre & what I love about her work is that they're thoughts and feelings in picture form, like that of a diary of a starry-eyed dreamer. Instead of writing these emotions down, she illustrates them. The Valfre world is based on the exhilarating work and mind of Mexican artist Ilse Valfre, her art is a collection that uniquely captures what its like to be a girl. Wrapped in self-expression, girl power attitude & life's wondering questions, I can certainly identify with them & have found that her many legions of fans do too. Colourful & fun, you will also find Valfre apparel and accessories too; t-shirts, phone covers, bags & journal books. I think their wonderful & sweet, I hope you enjoy them too dolls.

Have a gorgeous day!
